A.S.C.E.N.T.’s Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the SHS’ A.S.C.E.N.T. website and services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our website.

2. Eligibility & Age Restrictions

  • You must be 13 years or older to use our live chat service.
  • You may only sign up for events as an A.S.C.E.N.T. club member.
  • You may only become a member of SHS’ A.S.C.E.N.T. if you are a currently active student at Santiago High School, GGUSD, Garden Grove, California.

3. User Conduct & Chat Rules

By using our website and chat service, you agree to:

✅ Use appropriate language—no hate speech, bullying, or harassment.
âś… Not share personal, private, or sensitive information in the chat.
âś… Our privacy policy and terms of service.
âś… Having fun and inspiring the future in a respectful and orderly way.

We reserve the right to remove any users violating these rules.

4. Event Sign-Ups & Cancellations

  • Signing up for an event means you intend to participate.
  • If you cannot attend, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance to allow others to join.
  • Repeated no-shows may result in restricted access to future events.

5. Privacy & Data Collection

  • Our Privacy Policy (linked here) explains how we collect and use your data.
  • Our live chat service may not always be available and is provided by Tawk.to, which may collect data based on their privacy policy ([link to Tawk.to’s policy]).

6. Intellectual Property

  • Any content created for club events (e.g., books, articles, or materials) belongs to the original creator unless otherwise agreed.
  • You may not use, copy, or distribute club materials without permission.

7. Limitation of Liability

A.S.C.E.N.T. is not responsible for:
❌ Technical issues, website downtime, or third-party service failures.
❌ Actions or messages sent by other users in the chat.
❌ Unauthorized use of information shared on the site.
❌ The privacy policies and terms of services of websites linked on this website (backlinks) or any damage done by them.
❌ Any misinformation on this website.
❌ Santiago High School, GGUSD, or any outside organization/person/business.
❌ The general actions of ASCENT Club members.
